April 15th, 2012 Outlook

Here is my outlook for tomorrow: At this point, a lot of Wisconsin is in some pretty good shape to see some severe weather including some isolated tornadoes, damaging winds, and hail. Illinois is also in some good shape to see some severe weather as well, but Northern Illinois is in the best shape to see severe weather. This threat may also extend into Missouri all the way down into Houston, Texas but at this point, I am highlighting Northern IL and Southern WI as the best states to see severe weather. I won't issue a "serious red alert [high risk]", but this is a serious situation worth watching due to the >60 knots of shear in a favorable environment for storms. The SPC in Norman, Oklahoma has already issued a MODERATE risk for a lot of WI for tomorrow, and I can see that threat extending further south by the next SPC update. Stay tuned, and stay safe. Compared to today's ongoing tornado outbreak, this will not be as bad and it looks like more of a damaging wind threat, but I would still be wary of any watch or warning issued tomorrow, as it could end up getting very nasty.

Tornado Outbreak Likely Today.

I know I haven't posted in nearly 4 years, but this is serious enough to warrant a post. The SPC has issued a high risk area for parts of Kansas and Oklahoma today, wish a tornado outbreak looking increasingly likely. With a ridiculous low, more than enough [>60 knots] shear and instability, all the ingredients for a tornado outbreak are in place. My guess is that the real outbreak will start at around 5pm CDT and will go into the overnight hours, stopping at about 2:00 AM CDT. I will post an outlook for tomorrow's possible severe weather event later.
Where I would start to chase: Norman, Oklahoma at around 3:00PM CDT.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A LIFE THREATENING EVENT. THE WEATHER CHANNEL HAS CANCELLED ALL OTHER SHOWS TODAY TO BEGIN COVERAGE ON THIS POSSIBLY MEGA OUTBREAK. STAY SAFE!

Tonight Will Be INSANE! (And not to mention long)

I'll give it an hour and a half before things start going off the charts. It's is going to be a total wreck outside. It feels like a steam room outside, abseloutely (sorry for incorrect spelling) outside. Severe winds and hail are the biggest threats, but tornadoes can't be ruled out. This is a huge severe weather maker that I have been monitoring all day. It is going to be an absoulte MESS for N.IL/NW and S.IN. CAPE values and parameters are through the roof, plus there are moderate risks out. Everyone in the moderate risk area should heed alerts, and if a tornado warning is issued,GET TO A SAFE SHELTER IMMEDIATLEY! It saves lives. I'm writing this up before my power goes out tonight,my iPod is charging so if power isn't restored by at least 11:30,I gan go to sleep to that. This should all move out of N.IL by 10:00/10:30,and everywhere else through the overnight hours. Tommorrow will hopefully be WAY cooler and with no storms in sight. Winds could be hurricane force in IN tonight (they said that in a weather briefing earlier),so,perpare for power outages and a HUGE swath of tree damage. I am monitoring this dangerous situation as it moves closer to me,and becomes more organized. This isn't overhype, this is the truth about the weather for tonight:a huge severe wx outbreak/derecho. This sistuation is possibly life threating and you need to watch out. Thank you all, sorry for the long blog.

Rain,Rain,Go Away! (Rant,Mostly About The EAS And The Bad Rains)Warning,Strong Language!

The rain here is making me pissed off. What's even worse,is it's not NEARLY over yet for me as the rain is forming into a solid shield and headed NE/my way. THAT'S JUST FUCKING GREAT! I hate this rain, and it makes me feel like shit. (Sorry,I feel the need to swear during a rant.) Look, the EAS has been waking me up since 1:30 this morning with flash flood warnings, scaring the shit out of me during a deep sleep! >:( This rain makes the remaints of Gustav look like child's play! As I am trying to go through the day without going insane over the EAS warnings that feel like they are being issued by the minute (but are somewhat important because people might be out,and their cars could get submerged underwater),the rain stops! And,now it's back to flooding rains and more EAS warnings being issued by the minute that could make the most patent person in the world go insane! Damn it,I haven't been this angry and scared by the EAS in a while! Rain, rain go the hell AWAY,come back in late March 2009! Remember in January when the midwest had those severe storms that were unusual for that time of year? Do you remember August 23rd,or August 4th of this year, when there were crazy storms galore? The EAS annoyed me (but sorta saved me ATST)then, but now,the EAS hasn't annoyed me any more than today, which will probably continue into tomorrow! I hate the EAS right now, but,I probably won't on Monday, when it will be sunny again! And,there might be bad water damage to look at that I don't want to look at!

BOTTOM LINE:I HATE THIS RAIN,AND THE EAS HAS BEEN A LITTLE ANNOYING TODAY.

PS:My A/C turning on sounds like a tornado siren turning on.

Ms. Weather's Rant:What Is Wrong With The NWS Today?

This makes me wonder what the NWS is smoking. They said on my forecast earlier"Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1am." Now,they say,"Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 2am." First of all,do you think I give a shit what time it's gonna rain? No. Then, tomorrow, they brung me down from a 70% chance of storms to a 60% chance of storms. In Ohio, one of my friends online said they went from a 70% chance of storms to a 20% slight chnce of showers in a few hours. What the hell were they smoking? They keep changing stuff. Make up your minds damn it,and leave it as that. They love changing stuff. Hey,NWS,are you only doing this for a paycheck,or,do you give a shit about the weather? They only time I think they're accurate is when they're issuing a high risk. Another friend of mine online said when they issue a moderate risk,we don't need it,and, when they don't issue it,we get moderate risk weather. Sometimes, people get put under weather watches that they don't need. Hey,NWS,I know another person that is more accurate than you guys, and, his name is wfreeck. Link to his wunderground blog:http://www.wunderground.com/blog/wfreeck/comment.html?entrynum=121&tstamp=200807. Thank you for your time.

WTF? You have a slight risk for severe weather,a 70% chance of thunderstorms, and, you don't have spotter sctivation? That is a load of bullshit.

Anyways,we had spotter activation here in Chicago earlier this year for 40MPH gusts in thunderstorms. The NWS is sorta weird.
